 | Daikawa on Fire: 5-7 for Hanshin Saturday, May 25th, 2013: On top of the Hanshin hit parade today was Ryozo Daikawa. He went to the plate 7 times and marched away with 5 hits, sparking the Tigers to a 40-12 victory over the Yokohama Bay Stars. The sweet swinging shortstop told reporters, "Each time I went to the plate, I was thinking about hitting the ball hard somewhere. When I focus on that, I usually have quality at-bats." The skipper of the Bay Stars wailed to the press, "Too much plate. Not the way we planned it. Any hitter in the league will rip you when you do that." Ryozo Daikawa flied out in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, walked in a run in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 8th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Hisanobu Okabe in the 9th. This year Daikawa has hit at a .208 clip with 21 hits, 2 home runs, 17 RBIs and 22 runs scored. |   |
