 | 5-5 Day for Kondo Saturday, May 18th, 2013: It was high-5 day at Ballpark of Nakashibetsu College, at least for Norinaga Kondo of the Yomiuri Giants. He got a lot of high-5's from his teammates for his outstanding hitting against the Chunichi Dragons. Kondo smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his record-setting day, leading his club to a 17-9 win. His manager said, "Norinaga was hitting everything. It really was a special game for him." In the other dugout the opposing manager told BNN beat writers, "He ambushed my boys today. Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but luckily, tomorrow is another day. Hopefully it will be our day to shine." Norinaga Kondo hit a two-run home run off Tadashi Akiyama in the 2nd, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, doubled in the 5th, walked in the 7th and singled in the 9th. This year Kondo is hitting .381, produced 19 RBIs and 4 home runs, scored 28 times and gotten on base at a .476 rate. |   |
