 | Nakamura Goes 5-5 Tuesday, May 14th, 2013: It was a good day all around. Saitama Seibu whipped Hokkaido Nippon-Ham 9-8 and Ryu Nakamura displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Field of the Chariots.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told BNN reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Ryu is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."
The 25-year-old center fielder for the Lions collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats to get his name in the record book.
Ryu Nakamura doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 5th, doubled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Jun'ichi Ohara in the 8th.
Nakamura is batting at a .471 pace this season, picking up 49 hits in 104 at-bats with 5 home runs, 22 RBIs and 33 runs scored. | |
