 | Kato Cracks 5 Hits Thursday, May 2nd, 2013: Fukuoka SoftBank catcher Yasuo Kato put on quite a show at Ballpark of Aomori College with a big 5-hit day. But all for naught. The Hawks were beaten 16-11 by the Saitama Seibu Lions. In the postgame interview he said, "The team didn't do too well today, but it was a good one for me, at least at the plate... 5-6... wish I could do this more often. It would do wonders for my batting average... and my salary, too. But I could do without the losing." Yasuo Kato singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Seitaro Kan in the 5th, singled in the 7th, struck out in the 8th and singled in the 10th. Thus far this season in 17 games Kato is batting .294 with 2 home runs, 10 RBIs and 14 runs scored. He has 20 hits in 68 at-bats. |   |
