Tuesday, June 26th, 2012: It's a bleak day for the Royales as general manager Ángel López got his walking papers from upper management. He tried in vain to hang onto his job, but realized last evening the die had already been cast, noted several prominent team officials on the condition of anonymity.
The same officials felt that López took his firing "like a man" and would be hard to replace, though a search is currently under way.
