 | Treatment Fails, Michael Williams's Career Over Thursday, July 12th, 2012: Arizona closer Michael Williams has been diagnosed with a ruptured finger tendon, an injury so severe that will end his baseball career. "It's very disappointing," Williams told reporters today. "It was totally unexpected, which makes it a little bit harder to deal with." Doctors originally thought he would have a full recovery. The 20-year-old Williams has been in treatment and reported he was making great progress, when things suddenly went sour. He told BNN, "It went from good to bad... and then finally, to the worst case - doctors said my career is over."
