Monday, June 4th, 2012: It was supposed to be just another day at the ballpark, but it didn't turn out that way for Bob Edwards. In a meeting with the Cal State Fullerton owner and general manager Edwards found out he was being let go. After today's meeting the front office staff announced Edwards's firing. They declined to comment on who his successor might be, saying only that it would done quickly.
"Bob Edwards is a good baseball man and classy individual, but we don't think he's the best person to lead this ballclub at this time," said the Titans general manager. "We wish him all the best in the future." Edwards, whose in-game decisions have drawn a lot of criticism from local media of late, left the ballpark immediately after the meeting and could not be reached for comment.
