Thursday, May 10th, 2012: Miami Hurricanes starting pitcher Ryan Melcher suffered shoulder inflammation during a recent game with the Tennessee Volunteers and will miss 8 months. Melcher told BNN, "I hurt it throwing a pitch. I'm optimistic that I will be back quicker than they say."
This year Melcher has registered 4 wins and 1 loss in 9 starts with a 3.19 ERA while registering 49 strikeouts and 10 walks in 53.2 innings.
