 | Wolverines Chill Dunn's Hot Streak Monday, April 23rd, 2012: Shawn Dunn, first baseman for the North Carolina Tar Heels, gave it a good try, but his day in history finally came to an end, when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Michigan Wolverines. Not only had they stopped his 21-game hitting streak, they had beaten North Carolina 8-1, too.
Speaking with the media after the game, Dunn said, "Now that the streak has ended, I admit I will breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat. It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate."
This season Dunn is batting .375 with 36 hits, 5 home runs, 19 RBIs, .429 OBP and has scored 21 runs. | |
