 | Red-Hot Wilson Scorches Commodores Monday, April 23rd, 2012: Players get multihit games all the time. But a 5-hit game comes around only once in a blue moon. It happened at Ballpark of Barrow College when Tyrone Wilson of Georgia Tech scattered 5 hits all over the ballpark against the Vanderbilt Commodores.
He walloped 5 hits in 6 at-bats in his career-day performance to help the Yellow Jackets get by the Commodores 16-6.
In a talkative and jovial mood after the game, the right fielder of the Yellow Jackets said, "Whoa, my swing was really, really there today. I made some good, sweet-spot contact and when that happens... good things happen... like 5-6. I could get used to a lot of days like this one."
Tyrone Wilson hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit a two-run single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and grounded out in the 8th.
So far this season, Wilson has recorded a .256 batting average with 11 hits, no home runs, 6 RBIs, 2 runs scored and a .304 OBP. | |
