 | Harding Goes Cycling Friday, April 6th, 2012: Georgia Tech's Paul Harding accomplished what few others have been able to do -- he hit for the cycle. In baseball, a player hits for the cycle when he hits a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game, though not necessarily in that order. Collecting the hits in that order is known as a "natural cycle."
For the day he finished 4-5 with 4 runs batted in and 3 runs scored and helped his Yellow Jackets knock off the Virginia Cavaliers 12-6 at Castles Ballpark. In the postgame press conference he said, "I didn't even know I had hit for the cycle until after the game."
Paul Harding tripled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, flied out in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off António Torres in the 8th.
Currently Harding has 2 home runs and a .429 batting average. | |
