Wood Clobbers 3 HR Against Cardinals
Tuesday, May 14th, 2013: Regardless of where you stand on the "hardest thing to do in sports" argument, one thing everyone can agree on, is that hitting three home runs in one game is quite an amazing feat. That's exactly what Alden Wood did today at Surfers Ballpark. He went deep three times and carried his team to victory in the Ole Miss Rebels 12-8 win over Stanford.

"It all came together. I was seeing the ball well and I got some good pitches to hit," Wood said. "Good things happen, when that happens."

He blistered the Cardinals for 4 hits, batted in 7 runs and scored 4 times.

The Stanford skipper said, "It ain't like we weren't trying. He was hot and really torched my boys today."

Alden Wood hit a GRAND SLAM off Fred Butler in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Barry Willis in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Mark Rignell in the 7th and walked in the 9th.

So far this season, Wood has recorded a .422 batting average with 35 hits, 17 home runs, 31 RBIs, 26 runs scored and a .489 OBP.
