 | Alvarado Gets 5 Hits Sunday, April 28th, 2013: After the Tulane 13-2 victory over Texas and his 5-hit day shortstop Luis Alvarado told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special."
The 21-year-old player gained that distinction today at Ballpark of Celebration College with a spectacular 5 for 6 game against the Texas Longhorns.
The skipper of the Green Wave spoke glowingly of Alvarado, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Luis did that to perfection today."
Luis Alvarado singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and struck out in the 9th.
In the current season, Alvarado has put up a .361 batting average with 35 hits, 2 home runs, 17 runs batted in and scored 13 runs. | |
