Valdés Hits for Cycle Against Oregon State
Saturday, April 20th, 2013: Tulane's Juan Valdés accomplished what few others have been able to do -- he hit for the cycle. In baseball, a player hits for the cycle when he hits a single, a double, a triple and a home run in the same game, though not necessarily in that order. Collecting the hits in that order is known as a "natural cycle."

For the day he finished 4-5 with 4 runs batted in and 3 runs scored and helped his Green Wave knock off the Oregon State Beavers 12-7 at Palisades Ballpark. In the postgame press conference he said, "I didn't even know I had hit for the cycle until after the game."

Juan Valdés hit an RBI triple in the 2nd, grounded out in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit an RBI single in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off José Aponte in the 8th.

Currently Valdés is batting .256 with 11 hits and 4 home runs. He has knocked in 13 runs and scored 13 times.
