 | Rowdy Players Suspended by League Tuesday, April 9th, 2013: Yesterday at Field of the Shield Pepe Rodríguez and Bob Burke got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the South Illinois Salukis and Arkansas Razorbacks. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game. Today the league office notified both ballclubs that Rodríguez and Burke would be given 5-game suspensions for fighting. Rodríguez is presently batting .182 with no home runs, 2 runs scored and 3 RBIs. His OBP is .289. |   |
