 | Lafleur Tags Sycamores for 5 Hits Tuesday, April 9th, 2013: It was a hits blitz for Ray Lafleur at Pit Vipers Ballpark. The North Carolina Tar Heels center fielder tore into Indiana State for 5 hits in 6 at-bats to pace the Tar Heels to a 20-5 victory and wrote his name into the baseball record book. The manager for the Sycamores bemoaned his pitching, saying, "We fell behind and weren't locating well. Once you get behind in the count, you have to make real good pitches, rather than good pitches, and we weren't able to do that today." He added, "Not to take anything away from Lafleur, but bad location was the story of the ballgame. That's why we lost the game." Ray Lafleur grounded out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit a three-run home run off Errol Stewart in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, walked in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th. Presently Lafleur is batting .447 and has collected 1 home run, 11 RBIs, .532 OBP and scored 9 runs. |   |
