 | Ernie Dixon Strokes 3 Home Runs Wednesday, April 3rd, 2013: At Cypress Quarters College Grounds Ernie Dixon of the Iowa State Cyclones wreaked havoc on Wake Forest pitching, beating them 6-5 and leaving them in ruins after a prodigious three-home run performance. It was clear he was in a groove early on and as blast after blast cleared the fences. Fans knew they were witnessing a feat they wouldn't soon forget. After his monumental game Dixon told reporters at the press conference, "The last one was totally unexpected. I just wanted to make good contact, never thinking I would get a home run -- and BANG! -- I got #3." For the game the Iowa State third baseman had 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 3 and scored 3 runs. Ernie Dixon walked in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Alan Christopher in the 3rd, flied out in the 5th, hit a solo-shot off Paul Young in the 7th and hit a solo-shot off Phil Lee in the 9th. |   |
