 | SP Leland Dunbar Hurt Wednesday, September 19th, 2012: The Coney Island Cyclones learned that Leland Dunbar is likely to be out for 5-6 months after he injured himself throwing a pitch in today's game against the Chippewa River Chiefs. A round of tests by the team doctor revealed the injury to be a torn rotator cuff. Upon hearing the diagnosis, the Coney Island manager told the press, "As you all know, we can't control injuries -- they are a part of the game. We just have to do the best we can until Leland is back in action."
In 5 starts this season, Dunbar has recorded 2 wins and absorbed 2 losses. He has pitched 28.1 innings, allowed 20 hits, struck out 25 and has a 2.22 ERA. | |
