 | Rea Socks it to Mustangs, Cracks 5 Hits Sunday, July 8th, 2012: The River Chiefs whipped the Mustangs 5-1 at The Reservation and Luis Rea had a big hand in the win. The River Chiefs center fielder came to the plate 5 times and collected 5 hits. It was a good day for Rea and a tough day for San Angelo. "I just go up there and whale away and hope it hits the barrel of the bat," he said. "There really isn't any plan." Plan or not, Rea delivered today -- 5-5 is outstanding in any league. Luis Rea singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit an RBI double in the 8th. For the season, Rea is hitting at a .240 clip with 2 home runs, 12 RBIs and has scored 14 runs. He has 24 hits, 2 walks and a .255 on-base percentage. |   |
