 | Lindsey and Rucker Brawl, League Suspends Them Sunday, June 17th, 2012: There were a few hotheads at the Whitewater-Columbia game at The Aerie yesterday, but the cooler heads prevailed and kept fisticuffs to a minimum. It all started when Todd Lindsey of the Eagles and Dan Rucker of the 08's apparently exchanged some verbal unpleasantries and rushed at one another and began wrestling on the ground. Both benches emptied, but didn't get involved other than a little shoving. Order was quickly restored, the two instigators were ejected by the umpires and the game continued.
The league office took quick action and today announced that both players would be suspended 4 games for inappropriate on-field behavior.
Thus far this year Lindsey has hit .185 with 6 home runs and 20 RBIs.
For the year Rucker has 2 saves. In 31 relief appearances he has hurled 36.1 innings, fanned 50 and issued 5 walks with a 1-1 record. The Columbia reliever has recorded a 1.98 ERA and allowed the opposition to hit .165 when he is on the hill. | |
