 | Red-Hot Johnston AHL Player of the Week Monday, April 23rd, 2012: So far in his young career, Melvin Johnston has kept a low profile, but after his performance at the plate last week, he attracted the notice of the rest of the August Herrman League in a big way as he was named the Player of the Week today for his efforts. The 20-year-old Westside Road Warriors center fielder hit at a torrid .348 clip as he collected 8 hits in 23 at-bats, 2 home runs, 3 RBIs and 6 runs scored. This season in 11 games, Johnston has hit at a .386 clip with 17 hits, 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and 10 runs scored. |   |
