Saturday, September 14th, 2013: It took the Coney Island team doctor a while to realize it, but reliever Kiyoshi Hashimoto won't simply play through a bone spur in his elbow after he got hurt throwing a pitch in today's Lost-Cyclones game. At first, it looked like Hashimoto might be back as early as tomorrow, but now the prognosis isn't quite so good; he's expected to miss at least 4 months.
For the season Hashimoto has no saves, tossed 20.2 innings, fanned 13 batters and produced an ERA of 5.66. He has also been credited with no wins and no losses.
