Friday, September 13th, 2013: The Penzance Pirates will have to make do without Sergio Ortíz for 4-5 months. He suffered shoulder inflammation while throwing a pitch in the game today against the Cherry Hill Stealers. His teammates, understandably, were upset about losing the starting pitcher. "That's a tough break for him," one of them said. "But this team is resilient. We will just fill in until he gets back."
Checking out his stats for the year, Ortíz has racked up 8 wins and 7 losses in 25 starts, 2.85 ERA and struck out 138 batters in 158 innings.
