Monday, September 9th, 2013: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the August Herrman League, but last week Jerry Jones of the Sanford Stingrays reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Jones rocked opposing pitching for a .435 average (10-23), 2 home runs and 4 RBIs to come away with the award.
During the current season Jones is batting at a .223 clip with 2 home runs and 19 RBIs. He has played in 97 games and scored 11 times.
