Sunday, June 2nd, 2013: Baseball can be a contact sport at times. It can exact a harsh toll on a player's body. In a recent game against Cherry Hill Stealers, Saints closer Paul Lucchi was injured throwing a pitch and is expected to miss 10 months with a stretched elbow ligament. The team did not announce any roster moves today related to this injury. The St. Paul skipper told BNN that personnel decisions would be announced as early as tomorrow.
To date this season, Lucchi has fashioned a 5.02 ERA and rung up 5 saves for his club. He has 12 strikeouts and 8 walks. Opponents have hit for a combined .339 average against him and Lucchi has a 1-2 won-lost mark.
