 | Kim Smacks 5 Hits for Red Bulls Saturday, September 15th, 2012: 5 hits in a game has always been a magic number in baseball. Only a handful of players will do that. Get 5 hits in a game and you get your moment of glory... your 5 minutes of fame... you get your name in the record book.
In the Red Bulls 21-1 win over Grand Haven, Young-woong Kim was red-hot today, scorching them for hit after hit at North Shore Park.
"To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax. I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I must admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for a 5-hit game. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close."
On his big day Kim delivered 5 hits in 7 at-bats.
Young-woong Kim hit an RBI single in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI single in the 5th, singled in the 6th, flied out in the 7th and flied out in the 9th.
