Monday, August 6th, 2012: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Ford Frick League, but last week José Escobar of the Murfreesboro Deacons reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Escobar rocked opposing pitching for a .467 average (14-30), 1 home run and 4 RBIs to come away with the award.
So far this year in 99 games Escobar is hitting .326 with 22 home runs, 73 RBIs and 62 runs scored.
