 | Black Tosses No-Hitter Against Rams Wednesday, June 27th, 2012: In a dominant outing, Jonathan Black of Anniston totally silenced the bats of the Frisco Rams. In the 2-0 victory he faced only 31 batters, surrendered no hits, had 2 strikeouts and 5 walks.
"I'll be very honest with you," his manager said. "I didn't know the situation was what it was until the seventh inning. I happened to look up there to see how many hits we had. Then I happened to notice that they didn't have any hits."
Commenting on his defeat, the losing manager told reporters in the clubhouse how he saw the game, "Well, it was pretty simple today, the Cougars had all the hits and all the runs. And Black pitched a heck of a ballgame."
This season-to-date, Black has fashioned a 3-2 mark and 4.76 ERA in 34 innings. Opposing clubs are batting .228 against him and he has logged 30 strikeouts. | |
