 | Jefferson Holds Silicon Valley Hitless Monday, June 25th, 2012: The Jacksonville Hellcats were only hoping for a solid outing from Bruce Jefferson, instead the 27-year-old pitcher tossed a no-hitter against the Silicon Valley Hackers. Using a brilliant mix of off-speed pitches and fastballs, Jefferson kept the Silicon Valley hitters off balance all game long in the 1-0 victory at San Jose Municipal Stadium. The Jacksonville hurler fanned 8 and walked 3 in his record-making performance.
"I felt pretty good throughout the game," he said after his spectacular outing for the Hellcats. "As I was going into the ninth inning, I was not nervous. I knew I had a chance to do something special."
That something special got his name in the league record books.
In 13 starts this year Jefferson has crafted a 8-2 record and a 3.54 ERA. | |
