Monday, June 25th, 2012: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Alexander Cartwright League, but last week Artie Sullivan of the Newark Jail Birds reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Sullivan rocked opposing pitching for a .632 average (12-19), 1 home run and 5 RBIs to come away with the award.
This year Sullivan is batting .412 with 12 home runs.
