 | Hit Parade: Monroe Gets Cycle Saturday, May 12th, 2012: Getting 4 hits in a game is a pretty good feat, but when those 4 hits include a single, a double, a triple and a home run -- that makes it extra special. The Grand Haven right fielder did just that, hitting for the cycle and sparking the Whitecaps to a 9-1 victory over the Rams at Outlander Park. The elated Monroe told reporters, "Winning is the name of the game... and hitting for the cycle puts a little icing on it." The 4-5 day was also good for his batting average as he saw it rise a few percentage points. In addition, Monroe had 3 RBI and 3 runs scored. Bobby Monroe hit an RBI triple in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Michael Ramsey in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and singled in the 9th. Monroe is presently batting .239 with 2 home runs, 8 runs scored and 6 RBIs. His OBP is .316. |   |
