 | Quintana Goes 5-6 Against Newark Sunday, April 29th, 2012: It was a good day all around. Jacksonville whipped Newark 10-1 and Juan Quintana displayed a hot bat, enjoying an outstanding 5-hit day at Cobras Ballpark.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," he modestly told BNN reporters after the game. His manager told the beat writers otherwise, "His hitting wasn't luck today. It's his solid approach to hitting. Juan is focused, patient and he hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."
The 27-year-old first baseman for the Hellcats collected 5 hits in 6 at-bats to get his name in the record book.
Juan Quintana singled in the 1st, hit a two-run home run off Wes Phillips in the 3rd, grounded out in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
This year Quintana is batting .388 with 7 home runs and 19 RBIs. | |
