 | Another Setback for Ducks Thompson, Forced to Retire
Wednesday, December 18th, 2013: Long Island starting pitcher Reginald Thompson has been diagnosed with shoulder inflammation, an injury so severe that will end his baseball career. "It's very disappointing," Thompson told reporters today. "It was totally unexpected, which makes it a little bit harder to deal with." Doctors originally thought he would have a full recovery. The 23-year-old Thompson has been in treatment and reported he was making great progress, when things suddenly went sour. He told BNN, "It went from good to bad... and then finally, to the worst case - doctors said my career is over."
