Monday, August 26th, 2013: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Alexander Cartwright League, but last week Ekmel Yigit of the Anniston Cougars reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Yigit rocked opposing pitching for a .400 average (10-25), 2 home runs and 6 RBIs to come away with the award.
For the season Yigit has hit .272 with 13 home runs and 48 RBIs. He has played in 107 games and scored 56 times.
