 | Bell Goes 5-5 Against Ottawa Monday, August 5th, 2013: What a day for Jamie Bell of the Newark Jail Birds! A 5-hit hitting spree! That doesn't happen every day! He ripped Ottawa pitching apart at Cobras Ballpark and sparked the Jail Birds to a 14-6 victory. He wrote his name in the record books, finishing his special day 5 for 5. "I'm usually a first ball hitter," Bell told BNN reporters in the postgame press conference. "I think pitchers think batters are going to let the first one go by. I never do. I've always found that it's better to pull the trigger early in the count. Pitchers get real nasty when they get ahead of you, so I try to avoid that." Jamie Bell was hit by a pitch in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Danny Burgess in the 8th.
