Monday, August 5th, 2013: It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Ford Frick League, but last week Dave Townsend of the New York Ninjas reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Townsend rocked opposing pitching for a .476 average (10-21), 1 home run and 2 RBIs to come away with the award.
In 97 games this season Townsend has compiled a .257 batting average with 96 hits and 11 home runs. He has also scored 50 times and knocked in 49 runs.
