 | Sumption Selected Top Player Monday, August 5th, 2013: 22-year-old Robert Sumption made a few Grand Haven headlines during this past week as the rookie third baseman proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Alexander Cartwright League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 13 hits in 29 at-bats to put up a .448 average. Sumption collected 2 home runs, 11 RBIs and scored 6 runs. In his season totals Sumption has 5 home runs and a .311 batting average. |   |
