 | ACL's #1 Player, Smith of Prussian Monday, July 29th, 2013: A hot-hitting week got Jim Smith the Alexander Cartwright League Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers. The Prussian right fielder slammed them for a .440 average, 11 hits in 25 at-bats, 2 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 2 runs. In the postgame press conference, Smith shared his hitting philosophy with the BNN scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them... nothin' more than that." This season Smith is batting .221 with 55 hits, 7 home runs, 32 RBIs, 32 walks, .313 OBP and has scored 26 runs. He has played in 79 games. |   |
