 | 18 Ks for Schultz, Beats Ottawa 6-1 Thursday, July 25th, 2013: It was a very special game for Howard Schultz today at Hellcats Park in Jacksonville. He had the perfect delivery. The good fastball. The nasty curve. The batters mumbling and muttering when they swung and missed. And when he needed a strikeout, he got it. In an unforgettable performance the 29-year-old Schultz fanned 18 strikeouts Outlaws and sparked the Jacksonville Hellcats to a 6-1 victory over Ottawa. His catcher commented, "I don't think I have seen him throw better. His location and command were really something." In addition to his 18 strikeouts, Johnson allowed 3 hits and no walks in a superlative outing. His manager added, "It's a manager's day off when you get pitching like that." The Ottawa skipper had no comment that was printable in the newspaper. In 21 starts this season Schultz has fashioned a 10-2 record and a 3.97 ERA. |   |
