 | Lawson Belts 5 Hits Saturday, July 20th, 2013: It was a sensational day at the plate for Gary Lawson as he led the charge to a 10-6 win over the Hellcats. The Anniston catcher was pure misery for the Jacksonville pitching staff. He left them shellshocked with 5 hits in 5 at-bats in an explosive display of hitting. The manager for the Hellcats told BNN reporters after the game, "Lawson put the ball into play. He really hit it hard. When you do that, you've got a pretty good chance to do some damage. And that's what happened. I feel like we threw some pretty good pitches, but he just put some good swings on the ball." Gary Lawson hit a two-run home run off Mitch Denton in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 6th and doubled in the 8th. So far this season Lawson has put up a .304 batting average with 101 hits, 9 home runs and 43 RBIs. |   |
