 | England Razor-Sharp, Shuts out Cincinnati Thursday, June 27th, 2013: "He was too darn good for us today," grumbled the Cincinnati manager after his club suffered a 2-0 shutout at the hands of Blaine England of the Long Island Ducks. He held the Cincinnati Snaps scoreless in a 2-hit whitewash.
England was in a zone of his own most of the game and finished with 7 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
In a postgame quote his own skipper added, "He pitched his butt off, had good velocity, good movement and had those guys off balance. Blaine did a whale of a pitching job."
Checking out his stats for the year, England has racked up 4 wins and 3 losses in 9 starts, 2.34 ERA and struck out 58 batters in 61.2 innings. | |
