 | Cortéz Hurls Wolverines to Shutout Win Monday, May 27th, 2013: In an impressive mound performance, António Cortéz of the Wichita Wolverines checked the Phoenix Lights on a 1-hitter and held them scoreless. "He was getting ahead of us and keeping the ball off the plate," said the Phoenix manager. "Cortéz kept us confused the whole game." The Wichita hurler rang up 5 strikeouts and issued 3 walks in his 3-0 shutout victory. Cortéz has made 10 starts so far this year and put up a 3-5 won-lost record with a 4.88 ERA. In 59 innings he has allowed 60 hits, walked 25 and struck out 36. |   |
