 | Alexander Cartwright League Names Fields Best Batter Monday, May 27th, 2013: It was a fantastic week for Asheville shortstop George Fields and it was capped off today with the announcement that he was named the winner of the Alexander Cartwright League Player of the Week Award. Last week Fields hammered the ball at a torrid .478 pace, going 11-23 with 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and 7 runs scored. Fields is hitting at a .285 mark this season. His stats show 2 home runs, 25 RBIs and 19 runs scored. He has played 45 games for the Tourists. |   |
