 | Ninjas-Bulldogs Fight Nets 2-Game Suspensions Monday, May 13th, 2013: The league commissioner announced that two players had been suspended for inappropriate conduct. He told BNN, "What I'm trying to do with these penalties is say, we can't stop you from doing these things, but if you do them, you have to understand you will pay the consequences."
Baseball can be an intense game and on-field confrontations happen. However, the league disciplinary policy is to punish, sometimes severely, those who decide to settle things with their fists.
When Kip Kelley of the New York Ninjas and Arthur Cooper of the Spokane Bulldogs got into a scuffle during a game, both players knew that a suspension would be forthcoming.
Sure enough, today it was announced that both players will each receive a 2-game suspension for their actions in a recent game at Confucius Field.
Currently Kelley is batting .222 with 3 home runs, 12 RBIs and 21 runs scored.
Cooper's record up to now is 1-and-0 with no saves and a 8.68 ERA. He has given up 15 hits in 9.1 innings with 7 strikeouts. | |
