 | Sandy Springs's Murphy Shines, Shuts out Carson City Thursday, May 2nd, 2013: The Carson City Mustang were almost helpless today in their 11-0 loss to Sandy Springs hurler Logan Murphy. He kept them confused the entire ballgame and spun a 1-hit shutout. The Carson City manager said in the postgame interview, "Tip your hat to Murphy. He kept us off balance all night." Murphy said, "It just happened to be one of those games where even when I made mistakes, they either fouled them off or someone would make a fine defensive play. It was just one of those games that things went my way." He had 1 walk and 11 strikeouts in a strong performance. This season-to-date Murphy has 3 wins and 3 losses and a 3.52 ERA. |   |
