 | Ramírez's 24-Game Hit Streak Ends Thursday, April 11th, 2013: It was the best of both worlds for the Madison Beehive today at William Spade Park as they defeated the Murfreesboro Deacons 3-1 and also ended António Ramírez's 24-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old Murfreesboro shortstop failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against António, we just wanted to win the game," said the victorious Beehive skipper. "We did a great job keeping him off balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Ramírez frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about my streak ending, but I would feel much better about things if we had won the game." For the year Ramírez has hit at a .438 clip with 7 RBIs, no home runs and 5 runs scored. |   |
