Saturday, September 1st, 2012: "It was a freak thing," said a dejected Rafael Vega after injuring himself in a game against Reno. The Joplin manager told reporters that he's expected to miss up to 5 months with shoulder inflammation. The Fireballs are expected to announce a roster move in the next day or two.
Season-to-date Vega has rung up 5 wins and 11 losses in 20 appearances. He has an ERA of 4.76 and has fanned 68 batters in 107.2 innings.
