He told his pitching philosophy to sportswriters in the postgame interview after his 4-0 victory over Philadelphia. He blanked them on a 4-hitter, allowed 2 walks and had 2 strikeouts. "I really felt comfortable the whole game," Tate said. His manager echoed his comments, saying, "He hit his spots time and time again."
