 | Rodríguez Acclaimed Top Pitcher in May Friday, June 1st, 2012: Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Marcos Rodríguez, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Antioch Coal Miners closer, 25, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .172 average and walked away with the Blake Camden League Pitcher of the Month award for May. Rodríguez posted a 3-2 mark and a 1.89 ERA in 17 relief appearances. In 19 innings, he had 5 saves, 13 strikeouts, and 10 walks. In 30 relief appearances this season Rodríguez has chalked up 5 saves with 22 strikeouts in 29.2 innings, 3-2 won-lost mark and a 2.43 earned run average. |   |
