 | McFarland Goes on Rampage Against Smugglers Tuesday, April 10th, 2012: After the Albuquerque 8-7 victory over Bristol City and his 5-hit day shortstop Michael McFarland told BNN beat writers, "It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college ball, two hits in a game are very good... three or four hits even better... 5 or more are out of sight... and if it is in pro ball... it is really something special." The 22-year-old player gained that distinction today at Albuquerque Sports Stadium with a spectacular 5 for 5 game against the Bristol City Smugglers. The skipper of the Cacti spoke glowingly of McFarland, telling BNN writers, "His swing is getting there. We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Michael did that to perfection today." Michael McFarland doubled in the 1st, tripled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th. McFarland is presently hitting at a .357 pace with no home runs, 1 RBIs and has scored 5 times. |   |
